Since 1990
Our History
More than 30 years of expertise in the automated kegs, cans and glass bottling plants field.
1990

Co.Mac, today a leading company in the sector of automated bottling kegs and cans filling systems, was founded in 1990 in Bonate Sotto, a small town near Bergamo. Since then, year after year, project after project, Co.Mac has succeeded, by installing its plants, in becoming one of the most important players in the international beverage market.
2000

The Research and Development department was set up in 2000, which immediately produced new machines and parts, including a new bottling electronic filling valve and new washing and filling heads for kegging.
2005

Further research and technological improvements put Co.Mac in 2005 to produce high-speed filling plants with a production capacity of over 1,000 kegs/hour. It is the company’s breakthrough: thanks to this achievement, Co.Mac becomes the world leader in the keg filling field. Our brand is linked to the most important worldwide brewers and brands, such as Heineken, AB-InBev, CocaCola, Carlsberg, SABMiller, GrupoModelo, Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, EFES Group, Mahou San Miguel, Bavaria, Baltika and MillerCoors — as well as microbreweries and craft breweries, for whom we develop customized solutions. In 2018, thanks to the know-how gained, Co.Mac became part of CFT Group, making itself a reliable partner.
2021

Since March 2021, we are part of the Canadian-based ATS Corporation group — an addition to our international commitment. Today, Co.Mac systems are installed in more than 90 countries around the world. Step by step, we work to make Co.Mac more and more reliable, global and perfect for you.
Governance
Ethical Approach
The process of adopting and implementing the Organization, Management and Control Model (Legislative Decree 231/2001) began in 2017 and has been applied since the beginning of 2018. The Model helps Co.Mac. benefit from the exemptions envisaged by the Decree, while also improving its management procedures and ensuring business operations are conducted correctly and transparently. Co.Mac. has assigned a supervisory board to oversee the Model, check its real effectiveness, and appraise the need for updates. In 2018 the company developed an Ethics and Financial Integrity policy defining relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external.
Key principles of Co.Mac.’s Code of Ethics
- Honesty
- Confidentiality
- Trust
- Privacy protection
- Safety and health of workers and general working conditions
- Transparency and completeness of information
Whistleblowing
In compliance with Legislative Decree 24/2023 (implementing EU Directive 2019/1937) and the Organisational Model under Legislative Decree 231/2001, Co.Mac. has adopted a system for managing reports of workplace violations. Reports can be made confidentially or anonymously through the “Report It Channel” platform provided by parent company ATS Corporation, by traditional mail to the Supervisory Body, or by requesting a meeting via email. Co.Mac. guarantees confidentiality and imposes an absolute prohibition on retaliatory or discriminatory acts against whistleblowers.
How we work
Our Business Model
To improve its business processes, Co.Mac. has employed Lean production practices for several years, aiming to eliminate all kinds of wastage — of material, time, costs and skills — to guarantee maximum efficiency and responsiveness to customers’ needs. Since joining the ATS Corporation group, Co.Mac. has adopted the business system that has guided disciplined, continuous improvement across the entire group since 2017: ABM (ATS Business Model), built on three keywords — People, Process, Performance — applied through Kaizen days, visual management, and ongoing training.
People: our foundation
“A great business starts with great people. By developing, engaging, and energizing our people we are able to strengthen our processes, and deliver the performance that is expected of us.” — Angella Alexander, CHRO
The energy and empowerment of the people who work in the ATS Group is key to making impactful and continuous changes. Training courses and Kaizen events play an important role in detecting and solving waste issues, identifying solutions with a dedicated team.
Process: continuous improvement
“The ABM is about the pursuit of improvement in everything we do. When we have a standard process, and we can measure that process, we are able to drive consistent and sustainable improvement.” — Steve Emery, VP, Global Procurement
The ABM model cuts across all business functions and is deployed in three phases to achieve three goals: strengthen our core, deliver growth, and pursue excellence.
Performance: for everyone
“After the Kaizen event, I am amazed at the results we delivered in just one week.” — Production Team Leader, Cambridge Life Science Division
The current and future performance of Co.Mac. and the entire ATS group depends on this relentless process of growth, which brings benefits to employees, suppliers and customers alike.

Award presented to Co.Mac. during the ATS Leadership Conference 2024 as the company in the group that achieved the greatest improvement in the past year.
