CAMBRIDGE, ON, Sept. 21, 2022 – SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™, a division of ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc. (TSX: ATA) introduced their newest innovation, SuperTrak GEN3™ with collaborative functionality, at IMTS Chicago. This is the first of its kind and enables humans to safely interact with the conveyance platform to perform manual operations without interrupting production.
“We’ve been working on a way to manually interact with shuttles in a collaborative and safe way and we were really happy with how this feature was received at IMTS,” says Ben Hope, Director of Product Commercialization at SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™. “Introducing a collaborative functionality to our product line expands the applications and use cases for our customers, increasing its already highly versatile capabilities.”
The collaborative functionality creates a seamless experience for end users by recognizing human interaction and automatically stopping shuttles. Operators simply need to provide a gentle forward momentum to resume the cycle, no complex reprograming is required.
“We’re rapidly expanding our presence in automation facilities across the globe,” Hope continues. “It’s the first time we’ve attended a show of this scale under our own banner, and we saw a lot of new and familiar faces. We’re excited to see how we can continue to support automation integrators and manufacturers of all sizes as we continue to grow our Smart Conveyance technology offering.”
SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ utilizes speed, precision, and independent control, to enable high performance automation at a reduced cost. The upcoming collaborative feature set allows manufacturers to start producing while they are still developing their full automation processes by allowing human interaction. In today’s market this is critically impactful to manufacturers who are experiencing material and labour shortages. Click here for more information on SuperTrak GEN3™.
